Once a tutoring session is confirmed it is expected that both tutor and student attend the session and join on time.
If unable to attend as per date and time of original booking, it is expected that a student or tutor make the necessary changes to the session in advance.
In situations when a tutor or student does not attend the class or arrives late, here is our policy:
"User, Student, Learner, Parent" means a person that seeks a Tutor and/or Tutoring Services for or on behalf of an individual looking to receive such Services. This may be a student or parent/guardian of such student.
"Tutor" means an educational services provider accessible to Users via the Site.
"Account" means the profile you create by registering/signing up as a User on the Site in accordance with these Terms of Services.
"Tutoring Sessions" means the time spent when Tutor provides Tutoring Services to a user via the Site and Services.
"Refund, refund credit" means to credit back into a user's Account the amount debited for booking a tutoring.
If your tutor doesn't show up on time, please wait at least 10 min after the scheduled start time of the session before leaving and assuming he or she will not show up. Sometimes the other person may be having technical problems or just running a few minutes late;
If you do wait in the virtual classroom at least 10 min after the scheduled start time and your tutor has not joined, you may leave the session, the session will be deemed as "Tutor Missed" and your account will automatically receive a refund for the session;
If you leave the virtual classroom before 10 min after the scheduled start time and your tutor does show up, you will not receive a refund for the session so please make sure to always wait at least 10 min and watch the clock carefully. We calculate 10 min based on our own clock so it’s a good idea to wait over 10 min in case your clock is a little slower than ours.
For every session the virtual classroom will be available 15 min before and 15 min after the scheduled session time. This gives you an additional 30 min of time in the virtual classroom to use at your discretion and you will not be charged for this time. You may use this extra time to prepare before a session starts. In case your tutor was late to the session or to a previous session you may ask him/her to offer the missed time during this extra free time available but it will be to the discretion of the tutor to accept or decline this request.
If you are running late, your tutor will wait until 40 min after the scheduled start time of the session for you. After 40 min the session will be deemed as "Student Missed" and your tutor can leave and you will still be charged for the session;
If you do not attend a session it will be deemed as "Student Missed" and you will still be charged for the session. This is the case even if your tutor does not attend, so don't just agree by message that you will cancel the session, you must still officially cancel the session through the "Edit" and "Cancel Session" buttons where your session is listed.
If your student doesn't show up on time you are required to wait at least 40 min after the scheduled start time of the session in order to be paid for the full session. This is to be fair to the student as he or she will still be charged the full session even if late, and he or she could still benefit for even 20 min with you;
If you do wait in the virtual classroom at least 40 min after the scheduled start time of the session and your tutor has not shown up, you may leave the session, the session will be deemed as "Student Missed" and you will be paid for the session;
If you leave the virtual classroom before 40 min after the scheduled start time of the session and your student does show up, you will not be paid for the session so please make sure to always wait at least 40 min and watch the clock carefully. We calculate 40 min based on our own clock so it's a good idea to wait over 40 min in case your clock is a little slower than ours;
If you are running late, your student is required to wait until 10 min after the scheduled start time of the session for you. After 10 min the session will be deemed "Tutor Missed" and the student will receive a refund for the session. You will not be paid for the session and your Attendance score will be negatively impacted. Excessive "Tutor Missed" sessions in a short period of time will have your account placed under review and may be suspended and/or cancelled;
If do not attend a session it will be deemed as "Tutor Missed" and the student will receive a refund for the session. You will not be paid for the session and your Attendance score will be negatively impacted.
